Tax payers who haven’t yet submitted their self-assessment tax returns for 2010/11 are now facing penalties of at least £1,300 for late filing and this will rise to at least £1,600 if the return isn’t filed by 31 January 2013.
HMRC is writing to all tax payers who haven’t yet filed their returns for 2010/11 warning them that, in addition to the fines, they could also have their goods seized. Whilst HMRC states that sending bailiffs is very much at the end of the process, it is determined to ensure that persistent late filers submit their
tax returns and pay any tax due.
About 300,000 people still haven’t filed their returns for 2010/11 so if you are one of them and need help with your tax affairs then call Katy at Pemberley Accounting today on 078 105 18812 for your free initial
